Game Idea and Concept Art for It

As we had to develop game around flying a plane, we got into our group to mind map what we all wanted to do. After several minutes of debating what would be the right direction to take, we all decided that making a space game would be perfect for us. The next big step was to decide whether or not it was going to be 3-D or 2-D. The perks of having a 2-D game would be that it would be easy to code and we could develop this through many different art forms such as pixel art. The downside of having a 2-D game would be that it would not have that much detail and the mechanics that would work in it would not be as epic as the one in a 3-D game. The perks of having a 3-D game would be the amount that we could do with it. The code that we could put into it, the flight model, the detail in the ships, the game has the potential to look fantastic, the only problem being that there would be a lot of work at hand.

After a long talk, we all decided that if we are going to do something, we want to work hard for it, so we all thought we would try and make a 3-D based game.

So now we had what the game would consist of, we were going to make a concept for it. We all liked the main idea that was your character is a pilot who is docking at a space station just over titian, one of Jupiter's moon's. The station is very run down and has long been forgotten by the people of earth. Only people that cant afford to be anywhere else live here. On this certain day, an alien race comes to attack this undefended station and it is up to your character to buy the station enough time to evacuate completely. There is no winning concept as it is high score based, even if you manage to evacuate everyone, you still have to take done whats left. For every ship that evacuates, you get a certain amount of points, but for everyone that doesn't, you lose a certain amount of points. You gain points from blowing up enemies but only have a certain amount of hits to survive.

Me and my team are extremely looking forward to this project and the outcome and we will try our hardest to achieve what we set out to do.
